I was able to run a "Hijack This Log" using the memory stick. I'm using my old desktop and haping that I can download diagnostic programs from memory stick to my laptop so that it can resolve the problem. It can not find restore points or they were erased. Norton Symantic sends me the following message: "Auto-Protect unexpected error - 0x000003E8." When I boot the computer on, It says, "Connection Status Unknown." "Windows could not connect to the event notification service." All other programs work although my computer takes a long time to boot up and it won't connect to the internet and wifi. I even swapped out another motherboard with the same result. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware problem. I tried using a wireless usb adapter and that didn't work. My desk top, iphone and smart tv all work okay. My Dell Laptop will not connect to the internet via wifi or ethernet cable. ![]() Endpoint Detection & Response for Servers
